A fast rope is a bundle of paracord that quickly unspools when you need it but still stays securely together when you want it not in an unspooled mess dragging behind you on the trail. George over at MCS posted a video a little while back about how to make a fast rope and I loved the idea, so I asked his permission to make my own version of the video.
All you need to make one is some paracord and two points to weave between. Any points will work. I used a 2 x 4 and a couple of dowels, George used peg board and peg hooks, but you could use a patient friend’s fingers if you really had to.
