The 4Sevens Maelstrom G5 is the first truly tactical flashlight from the company, meaning that it has an interface and body optimized for military, law enforcement, and similar professions. It can handle the recoil of a weapon and just about anything else a tactical operator will throw at it (or throw it at). Of course, just because it was designed with tactical guys in mind doesn’t mean that it won’t work great for everyone else. The light has an impressive amount of throw thanks to its top of the line CREE XP-G R5 LED and large reflector and switching between four modes requires a simple quarter turn of the head. There are two mode groups that give you access to the eight modes available in the 4Sevens Quark line of lights.

Since the G5 is a special light, we did a special review and compared it not only to the regular 4D Maglite, but also a couple of other 4Sevens lights so that you could better see the differences between the models.
