The S2 Baton (S2) is a new side switch LED flashlight powered by a single 18650 battery or two CR123A lithium batteries. Best All Around Olight
Out of all the Olights I own, this one is probably my favorite. Yes, there are smaller Olight Batons. Yes, there are Olights with more lumens. However, if there is a "jack of all trades" light in the Olight lineup, this is it! Although there are smaller lights, I prefer having them slightly larger and actually fill my hand so that I don't accidentally drop it. Plus, it's still small enough to fit in your pocket without taking up much room. It also offers a similar output to the rechargeable S30R Baton II (950 lumens vs 1020 lumens) without the weight or thickness. It's only downside compared to the S30R is that it's not rechargeable. However, it does include a plastic sleeve insert so that you can go between using larger 18650 batteries, or more commonly available CR123 batteries if you need to. Having the same TIR lens that's on the S1 Baton also helps in providing greater spill in your light to better illuminate your environment versus a more focused spotlight. If you're debating between a small compact flashlight, or one with higher lumen output, get the best of both worlds with the S2 Baton!

Great flashlight. Very well designed!
Tremendous value for a great flashlight. I'm using it with the Olight 18650 (3400 I think, don't wanna look now). The modes are well thought out, not annoying or useless at all. I love how it has high modes, medium useful modes, and the very low mode for unusual situations.
I do kinda wish the clip could be positioned at either end of the flashlight so I could choose to clip it inside my pocket but with the business end inside/down.

Best EDC light!
Short version - Perfect EDC size, Perfect EDC Beam, 100% useful features for an everyday carry light.

Long version -
First off, this is my third order with Going Gear, and they have always been easy to do business with and I have no qualms when ordering from them. Great company, great products, and very competitive pricing. Keep it up!

On to the light...
I needed a replacement for my EagTac D25A2 Mini. So after searching and reading and watching reviews for what seemed like a decade, I finally ordered this Olight S2. First, to my surprise and delight, this light is even smaller then I had thought. Even though I had seen pictures and watched videos I believe you just need to hold it to believe it. If I didn't know anything about it, I'd assume it was an AA light not a CR123x2. It's somewhere between a Bic lighter and a standard sized permanent marker. Easily pocketable.

On to the beam. This is not a 400m thrower with a hot spot that will atomize your neighbors dog. However what it does throw up is a wall of light that will light up a very large area, very very well. Lighting up a room, engine bay, or a large area of land this light does it very well. It is VERY impressive for it's size. Also worth mentioning is the color rendering of the beam. You might not think this is a big deal, but it makes it much easier for your eyes to make use of the light output of this flashlight and to identify objects at night.

All of the lighting modes are spaced out very well and I find them all useful. I don't find myself wishing that low mode was lower or higher, or medium was more or less bright. I find them all perfect. The moonlight mode is again perfect, and it's awesome for reading in bed. After your eyes adjust to complete darkness, you'll also see how useful moonlight mode is. Especially when camping at night with others in your tent.

The UI is the best I've used yet. You get direct access to both turbo and moonlight. It will of course tail stand and the magnet in the tail is a super helpful, genius idea, especially under the hood or under the chassis or inside my furnace...etc etc.. I feel it has raised the bar for an EDC light and a feature I now love. The pocket clip is a super win, with double clipping points. With the forward facing, or head up clip style, putting it on a hat is a nice feature to turn it into a "headlamp" while walking or working, which leaves your hands free. Even the lanyard is nice. They even attached a metal pin to assist you with threading it into the tailcap.

After using this light now for a few days, I actually would have expected it to have a higher price point. Compared to other lights in this range I feel it an awesome value for my hard earned dollars. This light is very very well thought out and the execution is top notch. If you couldn't tell I'm extremely impressed with Olight and I think an R50 is in my future and some I3E's as gifts for others.

Amazing Compact 18650 Light
Got it with the spring sale, and all I can say is WOW. I'd pay $70 for this light. For $45(with a discount) it's an absolute steal. This light is amazing I carry it every day in my pocket, still have the reliability and run times of 18650 but in a size that's compares with AA and Cr123 lights. I thought I had lost my light on Friday so I ordered one saturday, ended up finding my old one on Monday, but I kept it anyways because the light is just that amazing. The only thing I will caution is that it can turn on in your pocket, the button is slightly more sensitive than the S1. Easy remedy is to position the clip to not let the button make contact. Haven't had any accidental turn ons after that!
