Marshall is the owner and founder of Going Gear. He was raised up and down the east coast of the United States and spent his free time hiking, camping, starting fires, and playing outside until his parents let him come back inside. Marshall worked in the corporate world for a while before starting Going Gear in July of 2008.
He stayed true to his roots of being a pyro and had firesteels as his very first products. He added small survival products that could be easily shipped and stored in his home office (and kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, etc.) without creating too much ire on the part of his very supportive wife. Business took off when he added flashlight after flashlight to Going Gear's lineup and he continues to work on the company's product selection to make sure customers have what they want and need for the outdoors. He probably likes fire, flashlights, knives, and merino wool more than a healthy mind should.
