- Surprisingly Useful Yet Overlooked In Day-To-Day Use
Carrying around pen and paper is something people no longer do with the advent of smartphones. Why have any EDC tools at all when smartphones can do everything? I'm of the mindset of not putting all my eggs in one basket. So I don't want to ONLY rely on my phone for illumination, writing, recording, etc. In cases where your battery might fail, or you need to write down or record something in inclement weather, you can't beat old-fashioned pen and paper, and you definitely can't beat ones made by Rite in the Rain. I've had to write down driver info after a car accident in whether that would kill most smartphones, and I can't tell you how often people around me have asked for a pen, and I end up being the only one around with a physical writing implement. This Rite in the Rain bundle is always a part of my EDC. Besides having a pen and notepad with me, the notebook cover serves to carry other loose papers and articles. I keep receipts and coins in it's additional pockets, my Griffin Pocket Tool, and even my Leatherman Bit Kit. Despite carrying all of that, everything is still compact and organized instead of floating around loosely and unorganized in my pocket. Keep a Rite in the Rain notepad and pen with you, and you'll be surprised how they'll often they'll come in handy!
