Versatile Value
I've owned several Surefire lights starting in the mid 2000s while I was on active duty in the US Air Force. The MH25 was my entry into larger lights with more features.

First, the MH25 is a great value. The included 18650 battery and the built in charging capability make the transition from lithium primary cells to lithium rechargeable cells much more economical. Nitecore also includes a charging cable, heavy duty nylon holster, pocket clip, tactical grip ring, lanyard, spare tailcap switch cover, and spare o-rings. Everything you need is in the box, so you don't have any additional cost. The light is very well built with its hard anodized body and even tougher stainless steel bezel for impact protection. Both the tailcap and the head have conical spring contacts which help isolate the internal components from battery shift under impact (or from recoil in weapon mounted applications). The charging port cover ring is o-ring sealed on both ends to maintain the MH25's IPX8 submersible rating. I particularly like that the cover ring stays on the light preventing loss, but is still removable for lubricating the o-rings when the light is disassembled.

The MH25 is also extremely versatile. The capability to run a single 18650 battery, or a pair of CR123 or RCR123 batteries provides several options to power the light. The micro USB charging port provides plenty of options to recharge or top off a charge when an 18650 battery is used. In turbo mode the MH25 functions as a high output tactical light with the single brightness level, and momentary / constant on forward click switch. In user defined mode the MH25 cycles through its modes with a light press of the switch, much like many other multi-mode lights. A full click will keep it in the current mode, and the mode is remembered when the head is tightened to switch the light back to turbo mode. The SOS and strobe modes are great to have for emergency situations, and the lower output constant on modes give it great all around utility. The MH25 is very well balanced, and, despite its head size and body length relative to the tailcap diameter, it tail stands easily on any hard surface that's relatively level. The 1 inch diameter on most of the body allows this light to fit in standard bicycle handle bar mounts, and standard ring style weapon mounts. The Cree XM-L LED in the deep, smooth reflector provides a beam that has a great balance of flood and throw. While not a tiny light, the MH25 can still be carried in a pocket pretty easily.

The Nitecore MH25 is a great option if you want a single light that can do almost anything, almost anywhere. It's a great way to get into premium lights at a great price.

great!!
this flashlight is great!!! this is perfect to cary with you anywhere. Its not like a huge flashlight that is to big and its not to small to loose. just the right size at about 6"inch. people tell me all the time on how crazy bright this thing is. its just as good as a cop light maybe better for a small size i bought this because It can easily be mounted onto any weapon system. I ride my bike everywhere and i just used some 1"inch PVC pipe and made a light mount for my bicycle. great in the rain and fog. has a killer flat black color to it. vary durable hight quality metal. I don't care for the way they built the USB charger though but its handy. i just take my battery out and charge it on my charger. the SOS and strobe and low, medium and High feature are great but twisting the head confuses me to change the settings. i end up loosening the end cap or the charger. I just use the high. its a great flashlight for the price 79.95 add a discount of 10% came out to be $71.00 for an 860 lumen light and this light is super bright for the size i can stick it in my pocket. I highly recommend this to anyone buying there first flashlight. but before you buy anything do some research on lights and educate your self and look at a lot of lights and compare and look at review before you buy and always look for discounts. thank-you going-gear your the best

Great Light, Awesome price!
This is a great little light. It's brighter then my Olight M30 and has a longer throw, it just doesn't have as much flood as the M30. I do like the fact that it runs on one 18650, that makes it shorter then my M30 and easier to carry around or throw into a bag. The price is great especially if you consider that it comes with an 18650 battery!

I am a bit torn on the Micro USB charging. I do like the fact that it takes the standard Micro USB, I have an Android phone so I have one of these charging cords laying around everywhere I go! I doubt I'll ever charge it in the car though, seeing that a charge can take anywhere from 4-6 hours. Also you can't use the light when it's charging (of course). So if you're planing a lot of high use, I'd get extra battery's and a external charger. There is of course the option of running CR123's in it too.

I don't care for the operation mode changing at all. I've never been a fan of the flashlights that you have to tighten and loosen the head to change modes. It's impossible to go from turbo to strobe with one hand on this light. With that said, I only use Turbo mode at my job so it's not so bad. The M30 is completely one hand operated.

Turbo mode... I didn't read this anywhere before I bought this light but Turbo mode is supposed to have a 3 minute shut off timer then the light goes into high mode. I read this on the Instruction Manual that came with the box. I wasn't happy at all to read that. I only use the Turbo mode so this would put a hamper in my need for this light....BUT I have yet to see this light shut off from Turbo mode! Very happy to see that! I don't know why it doesn't, I'm just thrilled that it doesn't! I've ran it for 20+ minutes on Turbo and the head is just luke warm. Granted that's it's winter now so colder temps might help a ton. So if you are worried about a short run time on Turbo mode this might not work for you. Like I said though, I have yet to see mine drop out of Turbo.

Over all I'm enjoying this light very much and I'm using it more then my M30.
