- Excellent for walking at night
I bought a PA40 20 months ago. It has seen a great deal of use and been completely reliable. The beam is floody, but most importantly the spill area of the beam (beyond the hotspot) is also bright enough to be useful. Since we often walk at night and also venture into our backyard this floody beam and bright spill are important as we sometimes encounter poisonous snakes at night and we REALLY want to be able to see well! This light is one of the main reasons my Wife never complains about flashlight purchases. She is scared of snakes and very much appreciates how well and how reliably the PA40 lights up the ground ahead.

- Great Light over all
So I've had this light for about 8 months. I've had it on various outings. I like it a lot and there's only one thing I'd change. But the good stuff first. It's very solid. My 6 year old has dropped it and no issues. It's been under water...becuase it's fun to do. I like the powerful, well balanced beam that it throws. Some lights in this category are either "laser" thin or have major spill and no throwing distance. The PA40 is a good balance. It can throw fairly far and has a fairly wide beam.
The one change I'd like to see is that I would prefer that it ramp up in light level instead of down as you cycle through the levels.
Great light over all.

- Truly awesome flashlight
I bought this light about 4 months ago and have been using it at least a few times a week since. It is my first "nice" light purchase, and I am completely happy with what I got. I love that the batteries are easy to find AAs instead of something of the fancier lithium cells. It's a perfect size for camping or having around for power outages in the house or checking things out in the backyard at night. I love the carbon fiber reinforced plastic body, which made it much nicer to use during the winter time (not nearly so cold as a metal handle would have been). Everything just feels very high quality and the light output/battery life is absolutely excellent for my needs. I'm still on the first set of batteries with 4 months of use.
Perfect choice for people that aren't looking to make flashlights into a hobby, and just want a really high performance/high quality flashlight with the convenience of common batteries.
I also had a problem with a coupon code at checkout, and customer service was top notch. Sent them an email and my refund was back in my PayPal within a day. Great company and I will be using them again for any future light purchases.

- Tough light with lots of power
I purchased six of these lights as a reward for a team of employees at the paper mill I work for. Great light with plenty of power. The guys were very impressed with the light....the best light that any of them have ever owned. All of the team members are either mechanics or electricians and work in harsh, wet, dust environments. So far the lights have held up extremely well. I purposely chose a light with standard easy to find batteries opposed to the more difficult and expensive CR123. I was a little disappointed that the flashlight did not arrive with the case or holster as shown in the video (the reason a gave three stars for value). The six lights I purchased came in a plain tan cardboard box with no holster. Since these were geared at being rewards for the teams, the holster and fancier box would have been a little nicer. Nonetheless, the guys really appreciated the lights and use them on a daily basis.

- Solid, around the house light.
I bought this light about a year ago. Sense then it has become my go to flashlight. This light is great for around the house. I don't need a light with strobe or SOS when I'm just looking for stuff inside and outside the home. I like the UI a lot very simple and strait forward. The 4 output levels all get a lot of use. Ultra low is great for at night if you have to get up and need to see something, but don't want to blast your eyes with hundreds of lumen. The High is great for outside. The beam is a bit more flood than throw. Good spill. Can still see trees at 100 yards. Smooth reflector. Great run time on sanyo batteries. Nothing negative to say about this light highly recommend.
