Description

This little guy is small and light enough that there is really no good reason not to throw one in your wallet, pack, or anywhere else you can so that you have a fast and efficient way to start fires on a sunny day. Fresnel lenses act like magnifying glasses, which means that you can focus the sun's rays on a small point to instantly light many kinds of tinder. Char cloth works especially well in combination with a fresnel lens.

Nice add-on
I was placing an order and wanted to add on a few things around a dollar or so. I saw this thing and figured, what the heck? I'll take one.

I was doubting it's ability to start a fire, but it performed very well even in some late afternoon sun.
Price and value are spot on. The quality is okay, there were a few tiny imperfections in mine, but it does not really matter.

This comes with a small carrying pouch... I'm not sure why. I figure it must be to prevent it being scratched up. The carrying pouch won't fit in my wallet's credit card slots. The actual lens is slightly smaller than a credit card.

I doubt these were manufactured to start fires (magnifying lens,) but they seem good at both.

Great addition to any kit or wallet
This compact Fresnel lens works great for starting a fire on a sunny day. All you need to do is to maintain a focused beam of sun light on your favorite piece of tinder. Magnification is pretty good too. I am not sure about the numbers but I think its X4 magnification.

Insurance for only $1.99
Yes you can make fire with this little fresnel lens. I have done it multiple times myself and although charcloth does make it easier I have made fire without it. It has to be a bright sunny day and you have to be able to hold a tightly focused beam on one spot, in a birdsnest (also know as a bundle of tinder) until you have an ember and then blow the ember into fire. It does take some practice but the first time you do it you will be amazed.
So get yourself a little insurance for only $1.99 and keep it in your wallet. You never know when it will come in handy. Oh and it also makes things look bigger...imagine that!
