- Very nice small edc light
Wasn't sure about pulling the trigger on the new preon, from reading some of the reviews of the older versions, seems like people had problems with the the tail cap being easily activated, and also the clips being flimsy. Foursevens posted a review of the new preon and how they fixed these past few issues so I decided to give it a shot.
The preon has become my EDC light (I am a FF/EMT), its very small (takes up no room in the pocket), and any issues with earlier versions have been fixed. I have carried the light for about 4 months now, and have yet to accidentally turned it on in my pocket due to the tail cap switch, the clip is also holding up very well, the clip is clipped in my pocket everyday, and still has very good retention.
Overall I am very impressed with the light, it seems brighter than 100 lumens. The layout of HI/Low is nice on the setting (it comes out of the box set on hi/low, you can toggle between hi and low if you press the tail cap once after turning it on, so it makes it easy if you need to dim from high to low or vise versa), but changing the programming to different setting is pretty difficult to me. I am using eneloop AAA rechargeable batteries (i switch out a new battery every morning) and I have yet to have the light go dead on me after heavy use at night.
I highly recommend this light, I will be looking to get the new preon P2 in the future.
