- Nice basic light that works well with A123 26650
I bought this last year when it still had the old S12 name.
The ability to use 26650 batteries and having the big SST-90 LED, was the selling point for me. It puts a ton of light out and a very good flood thanks to that big power hungry SST-90. The interface to access low and high beam is stupid easy. I've used it as bike light on my handle bar to night riding on the single track mtb trails. Used it for roadside emergency situations, anything that needs a flood light basically.
The ability to use A123 26650 cells is just awesome. Those cells can be abused with no fear of a big fire. I have a long history with those cells and still use them in my high amp toys. So since the capacity of the A123 is between 2300-2500 mah when new, I have a few on hand while riding the trails. However I fully charge A123's in 5 minutes, making the Maelstrom MMU the most used light out of my small collection of flashlights.

- Not Good
This is the S12 but now FOURSEVENS Is now calling it the MMU? I purchased this from another site because GOING GEAR was sold out at the time. The reflector was not seated with the centering disk and emitter.I tried to correct this without it getting to involved to no avail.Sent it back and received a replacement and the twist cap switch would function on high only?Got a refund. And by the way not impressed with output of this and the 26650 battery is basically a proprietary battery.I purchased this because of what I had viewed in videos but this thing emits a very blue dark light,if that makes any sense. The U.I. is bad to me and I know others have praised this light but I in no way would ever recommend this piece of junk.
